Dental Fillings

At our dental practice in Marlow, we offer many different types of dental fillings. They all fall into one of two categories: direct or indirect.

Direct Fillings

A direct filling generally requires just one visit to the dentist, which is what most people envision when they think of a "filling." It involves restoring your tooth without the need for temporary restorations or a dental lab.

Indirect Fillings

In contrast, indirect fillings are typically created in a dental laboratory before your dentist fits them into your tooth. These restorations usually require two separate visits—one for taking impressions and another for placing the final filling.

At Marlow Dental Centre, we use advanced CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) technology, allowing us to design and place your indirect fillings or crowns in just one appointment. Depending on the material selected, the time required for manufacturing can vary from a few minutes to several hours, so we may not always recommend completing the procedure in a single visit.
